This 7 Day safari will take you to Uganda’s largest park, Murchison Falls National Park, situated in Northwestern Uganda on an area of 3,840 sq km and Bwindi Impenetrable Rainforest for Gorilla Trekking.
Murchison falls National Park is classified with Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and southern bank). Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the Great blue Turaco, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a big number of Nile crocodiles and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide
While Bwindi Impenetrable national park has more than 360 mountain gorillas, Plenty of wild life, and hundreds of bird species. So, Gorilla trekking offers you a great opportunity to penetrate the impenetrable Bwindi Forest in search of the most endangered mountain gorillas. Also, a visit to the surrounding Batwa community of Bwindi, is yet another experience one wouldn’t like to miss. From showcasing their culture, housing, food ways of life art and crafts. All said you will have an opportunity to enjoy both our Uganda safari game drives and the boat cruises along the Nile River.

Expand allCollapse allDay 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Upon arrival in Uganda, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to Murchison Falls National Park, a 4-5 hour drive north. Along the way, you'll pass through traditional villages and lush landscapes, offering a glimpse of Uganda’s countryside beauty. Arriving in the park, you’ll head straight to the top of Murchison Falls to witness the Victoria Nile squeezing through an 8-meter gorge, creating a powerful display of nature. Settle into your lodge and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Day 2: Game Drive and Nile River Boat Cruise
Early in the morning, embark on a game drive on the northern bank of the park. The savannah grasslands here host various wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, and antelopes. Your guide will help spot these magnificent animals and share insights about their behaviors. After lunch, head for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile, getting up close to hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. You’ll end the cruise at the base of the falls, marveling at the thunderous waters before returning to the lodge.
Day 3: Delta Cruise and Bird Watching
Start your day with a delta cruise to the tranquil area where the Nile River meets Lake Albert. This is a paradise for bird lovers, with species like the Shoebill, African fish eagle, and Goliath heron. As you explore, you’ll also have the chance to encounter waterbucks, elephants, and even rare sightings of leopards along the riverbanks. After the cruise, enjoy a leisurely lunch and an afternoon nature walk around the lodge area to further explore the park’s rich birdlife.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today, you’ll journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive takes around 6-7 hours, offering scenic views of tea plantations, rolling hills, and rural villages. On arrival, settle in and prepare for the adventure of gorilla trekking the next day. Enjoy the serenity of the rainforest surroundings as you relax at your lodge.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Today is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your trek through the dense forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek can last from 1-5 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Upon finding them, you’ll spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The experience is humbling and unforgettable. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest.
Day 6: Visit to the Batwa Community
This day offers a cultural immersion with a visit to the Batwa community, the indigenous people of Bwindi. Learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting techniques, herbal medicine, and dance performances. You’ll also get the chance to see their art and crafts, interact with the community members, and experience firsthand the deep connection they have with the forest. Return to your lodge in the evening, enriched by the Batwa’s unique heritage
Day 7: Return to Kampala and Departure
After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala, reflecting on the incredible wildlife encounters and cultural experiences you’ve had over the past week. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping in Kampala before heading to the airport for your departure, carrying memories of an extraordinary safari in Uganda.
