About This Tour

This 14 Days Wildlife Adventure Trip to the Pearl of Africa takes you to Murchison Falls. Expect Big 5, launch trip to the bottom of the falls. Proceed to Kibale for chimps tracking thereafter enter Queen Elizabeth NP. Here, you expect more game drive & launch trip on the Kazinga Channel then continue to Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla experience then a relaxation in Lake Bunyonyi. Head to L. Mburo NP where you will enjoy a boat ride or park walk. Travel back to Entebbe for your outbound flight.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by Avents Tours Safaris Driver-Guide who will welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. You will then be transferred to your accommodation for rest, dinner, and overnight. Welcome to one of the most memorable 14-day Wildlife Adventure Trips to the Pearl of Africa.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast at your hotel, our Guide/Driver will pick you up to start your journey to Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park, home to the world’s strongest waterfall. You will have a stopover at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track some of the surviving white rhino population. After this rewarding experience, you will have lunch and continue your journey to the largest national park in Uganda. Upon arrival at the park, you will drive to the top of the falls, and enjoy breathtaking views. Finally, you will head to your lodge, check in, have dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Safari to the Base of the Falls

Start your day with an early morning breakfast before setting off for a game drive. Here, you will have the chance to see some of the park’s wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, waterbucks, elands, giraffes, and warthogs. This rewarding experience lasts about three hours. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will go on a Nile boat cruise to spot Nile crocodiles, hippos, and unique bird species. The phenomenal appearance of the waterfalls will be a highlight. After the cruise, return to the lodge to relax and as you wait for dinner and an overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, check out of the Safari Lodge and embark on your drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Your journey will take you through the magnificent Albertine Escarpments and the scenic countryside. Have lunch in Hoima and arrive at Kibale Forest National Park in the evening.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a pre-tracking briefing at 7:00 am before entering the jungles of Kibale Forest to search for mankind’s closest relatives. After 2-5 hours of tracking, you will see chimpanzees hooting, feeding, playing, and grooming. Besides chimpanzees, expect to see other primate species such as red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons, as well as birds, butterflies, and interesting tree species.

After tracking, you will have the opportunity to take a guided walk through the Bigodi Swamps, home to eight primate species, over 200 bird species, and many reptiles. The highlight is catching a glimpse of the famous Great Blue Turaco. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, is often included in visitors’ itineraries. It is the second-largest park in the country, situated at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, next to Lake Edward and Lake George, which are joined by the Kazinga Channel. The park boasts high biodiversity with landscapes including savannah, bushland, wetlands, and lush forests. You may see elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, various antelope species, and possibly predators such as lions, leopards, and serval cats. Ten primate species, including vervet and black-and-white colobus monkeys, are also commonly spotted.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Wake up to an early morning breakfast before heading for a game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot African tree-climbing lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, waterbucks, and warthogs, in addition to at least 200 bird species.

After this amazing 2 to 3-hour activity, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before the afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. During the cruise, you will see hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs, as well as bird species like kingfishers and shoebill storks.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to the Ishasha Area

Have breakfast before setting off for a breathtaking game-viewing experience in the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its resident tree-climbing lions. There is about a 70% chance of spotting these lions, though they can sometimes be elusive. You will also see other wildlife such as Uganda kob, Cape buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs. Afterward, head to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 9: Ishasha Game Viewing and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, go for more tree-climbing lion sightings before transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorilla population, including several habituated groups for tracking. With a strenuous day ahead, you will check in at your accommodation and relax, preparing for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

Have a hearty breakfast before proceeding to the Park Headquarters for a pre-tracking briefing at 7:00 am. Continue to the jungles at 8:00 am to track the adorable mountain gorillas in their mist-covered natural habitat. Trekking lasts 2-6 hours, and once sighted, you will spend one hour with the allocated gorilla family, studying their behaviour and taking photos. Afterward, return to the lodge to relax. If time allows, you can go on a cultural walk to Batwa villages to immerse in their ancient lifestyles and traditional dances. Later, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, check into your accommodation, and relax, enjoying dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Explore Lake Bunyonyi, Enjoy Canoe Rides, Interact with the Community, and Sight Birds

After breakfast, you can visit the Oregano Rainforest, which has diverse plants and animals, or interact with the Batwa community. Birders can enjoy spotting over 300 bird species recorded in the area. Alternatively, you could opt for a canoe trek on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring the major islands and their rich history in a traditional dugout canoe. Return to your accommodation for lunch and relaxation, reflecting on your trip so far.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo and Evening Game Viewing

Have breakfast and then set off to Lake Mburo. Arrive in the park in the early afternoon and rest before heading out for evening game viewing. On the game drive, expect to see eland antelopes, zebras, topis, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kob, and Cape buffaloes. Later, relax at your accommodation for the night.

Day 13: Mburo Nature Walk and Afternoon Boat Safari

Lake Mburo Park offers unique nature walks with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority Guide. On an early morning guided walk, you may encounter hyenas returning to their dens and hippos returning to the lake after grazing at night. Zebras, giraffes, elands, topis, and other antelopes, buffaloes, birds, and butterflies are also commonly seen. Take the trail to the top of the hills for a great view of Lake Mburo and beyond. In the afternoon, a boat ride on Lake Mburo will bring you closer to the flora and fauna of the lake.

Day 14: Departure and Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

Have breakfast and check out from your lodge to head back to Entebbe. You will cross the equator, experiencing being in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time, and have time to take photos before reaching Entebbe Airport in the afternoon or late evening for your departure.
