Queen Elizabeth National Park is situated south-western Uganda. It covers 764 square miles (1,978 Square kilometers) in a region of rolling plains east of Lake Edward and foothills south of Rwenzori Mountains. Itinerary
Expand allCollapse allDay 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast you head west of Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the journey will take you 6-7 hours. You will have a stopover at the Equator where you will have an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take photos. You will to continue to Mbarara where you will have lunch before proceeding to the park as you drive through the spectacular landscape characterized with open grasslands, Ankole long horned cattle, tea plantations, and various woodlands. Reach the park in the late afternoon, relax at the lodge as you wait for your dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat ride
Begin your day with delicious breakfast before getting on with the game drive on different trails in the park. You will have a great opportunity of seeing various animals like water bucks, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffalos, lions, warthogs as well as various birds. After the drive, go back to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will have a 2hour boat cruise on the famous Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. While on the boat you will see a good number of animals like Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, kobs among others. You will also have a chance to view different kinds of birds like Kingfishers, pink backed pelicans, on the banks and in trees. Have dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Day at Leisure
You will have the morning at leisure then later after lunch, you visit the crater lakes. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampla
You will have a heavy and tasty breakfast. Then check out of the lodge, you could choose to walk in the park or not. Enjoy your lunch still along the way, proceed to Kampala, where you will be dropped off at your hotel in the evening.
